Kähkonen family death in 1744

Viesti Kirjoittaja Katie » 19.02.2017 06:10

I found 3 people in one family died on 15 Dec 1744 in the Kuhmo area. Were there any epidemics in the area at that time. I checked the Finnish Family History site and found death records for 1744 under Sotkamo but I am unable to make out the wording. The people are: Mother is Agnetha age 70; daughter Helge age 32; and son Thomas Christer age 33. I am not sure if any records were stored in Sotkamo for Khumo but thought I would check it out and found death records for 1744.
Thank You
Janice

Thanks for checking this out. Some of the original records can be quite difficult to read. I came across an article on the internet that there was some Russian invasion activity in the Kuhmo area and can't help but wonder if that had something to do with their deaths. It could also be they just happened to be buried at the same time and died earlier.
I appreciate your help, again.
Have a nice week.
Janice
