I am having great difficulty translating the notation in the remarks column for Heikki Erkinpoika Anttila (4th line).
Any help would be most appreciated.
Thank you,
Lynette

Original: ottanut reisupassin rautateille"
Translation: "taken travel passport to the railways"
Probably went to build railway lines from Hämeenlinna to Tampere that was finished in 1876.

Should there be a record of him leaving the parish to work for the railroad? I was unable to find an entry for him in the in-and-out migration records.
Thank you,
Lynette

My interpretation: Since he did not take "muuttokirja" he did not move his official residence from one parish to another. "Reisupassi" seems to be a permit to go to work for the railroad without changing your official residence,

Last column, "Afgått/Lähtö" seems to show that he "moved" to Lappajärvi in 1878.

Thank you for the explanation. Perhaps he was living in some sort of barracks that were provided by the railroad.
