I have my grandfather and 2 of his siblings born in Norway - Murmansk is the location used. Also wording used: Kyla-Murmaan Hanta. From what I have learned is that Murmansk in the late 1800's was possibly part of Northern Norway. Or was it Russia? I show my grandfather's 2 older siblings with a birth place of Murmansk, my grandfather I show records that he was born in Norway (no town/village given) or Russia (no town/village given). Is there a way to access the Murmansk birth records for 1875-1876?

Just to verify what I am looking for are birth dates for John Herman (b.25 Jul 1875); Kaisa Maria (b19 Dec 1876); Henry (Hentti) (B. 23 Apr 1880). They are the children of John Kähkönen (B.20 Jan 1850) Lendua 41 Kuhmo and Maria Ida Ohtonen (b.07 Jul 1850) Katerma 17 Kuhmo. John and Maria were a young newly married couple with a baby daughter, Anna Greta (b. born 26 Jul 1874) Lendua Kuhmo but died as a baby before during or after their arrival in Murmansk seeking work to save money to emigrate to America. They were in Murmansk area long enough to have 3 additional children.
P.S. I found this post I requested in 2013. This may be the end of my search.

I checked the moving records 1874-1881 and Johan and Maria are not listed there. Probably because they left the country, those moves were usually not listed. The communion book 1877-1886 has them and their daughter Anna Greta (born 26 JUL 1874) moving to Norway (i Norrige):

Here's Anna Greta's birth:

Is there a link available to search Murmansk records?
Please advise and I think I know what your answer will be. Just checking again.
Thank You

No, because Russian city of Murmansk did not exist at that time.

Well, sometime you just come to the end of the road and have to turn around and go onto something else. I wonder what ever happened to his papers.
Now it's resolved. Thank you for checking, again, on this issue.
Have a nice weekend.

Thanks for getting back to me. I wish I had some way to review the family and the birth entries.
Thanks again
