kyrkovd - for Gustaf Karppinen 1843

On a death record under Hiski death records it shows "g. kyrkovd" I believe the g would mean old because he was but the kyrkovd I could not find a definitive definition. I found : kyrkoby kirkonkylä central village of parish;
kf kyrkofattig kirkonvaivainen poor people getting their living on welfare from the Church ;
kfst kyrkofarstu kirkon eteinen Church lobby (vestibule) ;
kh kyrkoherde kirkkoherra vicar .
Would you please translate for me, please.

Probably shortening of "kyrkovärd" - church warden. He had all kind of administrative responsibilities, even the church accounts (I think). Maybe someone else has more accurate info about his duties.
