On a Hiski record for the above person it shows age as 43yrs old and cause of death as Tarand.p
Would you please translate the cause of death. I am unable to locate the wording.

Thank you Jaska for the answer. I can't help wonder what caused the wasting away - it could cover so many diseases that there probably wasn't a name for in 1779. Obvious would be Cancer but it could have been something else.

In my opinion "tärande sjukdom" is something like "withering away", losing strength gradually. It could be actually tuberculosis.
