Elin Juhont Pietilä birth entry 1721

Above is the link to the original birth entry of Elin Pietilä. Her name is the last entry on the right page and she was born 04 May 1721. I looked at the Hiski record and there was no mention of her mother's name and looking up the original I am unable to make out if the mother's name is there. I can barely make out her father and perhaps the name under his is that of the mother. Would you please translate for me.
Thank You
Janice

There is no mention of Elin's mother in the record.

Elin, the daughter of Johan Pietilä was born May 4. Baptized May 5.
The witnesses are,
Matts Halonen Britha Olofdr
Peer Pietilä Juliana Olofdr
Staphan Peersson Margetha Sauwola

Thank You. I think it's odd and may be an accidental omission. But, I'm going to spend a bit of time and check the records by date in that area to see if a young woman about the age of Elin's father died from child birth or just died about the time of Elin's birth. I know this may not resolve my question, and that there are a number of other scenarios that would answer why Elin's mother wasn't included and it may just be a dead end.
Thanks again for your help, much appreciated

It's not an accidental omission. In the older records for most parishes, only the father is listed. In some parishes, up to 1750. The only way to find the name of the mother is to look for marriage records, communion books or tax records. In your case, I believe this is the mother (from the marriage record):
13.11.1720 - Johan Peersson Pietilä sol. Mickel Pietiläs enckia Brijtha Peers:dr

You can see her here under Michel Pietilä:

And both Johan and Brita in the next book:

Hello, Jani
Glad to see that you are still around. It's been awhile since I've been working in Ancestry and needing FFHA help. It's winter time so I'm back it. Thanks for the help. That opens a big door for me and another big issue about not including the wife's name in some of the records. This is great news.
Have a great week and of course I'm sure you may see my name floating around again.
Once again, Thank You.

In the marriage record of Elin's parents it is mentioned regarding Elin's mother the wording:
"sol. Mickel Pietiläs enckia Brijtha Peers:dr" I found this in the corresponding Hiski record.
Was Brijtha Mickel's widow? I'm not sure about the wording of sol and enckia
Thank You

Sol. is usually short for soldat = soldier and enka = widow. However, I believe that that shold be sal. (salig) meaning late, as in the widow of the late Michel Pietilä.

I'm not an expert in Kemijärvi records, but if I'd have to guess I think Brita was married 3 times:
1.1.1700 - Påhl Matts. Tuuliainen Britha Pehrs:dr Luusua -
25.8.1707 - Mich. Michelss. Räisäinen sol. Påhl Tuuliaises enckia Britha Peers:dr -
13.11.1720 - Johan Peersson Pietilä sol. Mickel Pietiläs enckia Brijtha Peers:dr

This might be the deaths of the first and second husbands
3.10.1704 1.11.1704 - - Påhl Mattzson Tuuliainen 47 2 :
13.3.1719 31.3.1719 - - Mickel Mickelsson Räisäinen 42 6

If you look at the 1710-1717 book, there's a Michel Michelsson at Räisänen with his wife Brita (no Michel or Brita in Pietilä):
http://www.sukuhistoria.fi/sshy/sivut_e ... 73&pnum=11

In the 1719-1727 book Michel and Brita are no longer at Räisänen, but there's Michel and Brita at Pietilä (Michel dies in 1719):
http://www.sukuhistoria.fi/sshy/sivut_e ... 474&pnum=2

In the 1706-1710 book you can see Brita at Tuuliainen and then later at Räisänen:

"sol." seems to be an interpretation error in HisKi, original records have "sal.", i.e. salig = late, as Jani told.
http://www.sukuhistoria.fi/sshy/kirjat/ ... k198/3.htm
Same error appears ten times in Kemijärvi marriage records in HisKi :?

Wow, you are good!!! I thought I was looking at multiple marital records but then I thought maybe I was looking at other people with the same names. I confused myself so much I had to stop working on it. Thanks for catching this. Now I have to analyze it.
Good work.
