Book with births in Oulu 1909? My grandfather is there

Hej,

My mother was sent as a five year old girl to Sweden during the war.
After that she unfourtunately had very little contact with the Finnish family.
I know that grandpa Veikko Yrjö Paulin was born in 1909-08-03.
Probably in Oulu? I am very curious to find out the name of his parents.

I just became a member here. Any idea when the book with
births in Oulu from 1909 and onwards will be released?

I am not a specialist on Oulu but am afraid you maybe have to wait long before the next years of births come available, sometimes it takes those ten years as the next years are bundled together. And it also depends on how willing the parish is to give the films to volunteers, and on if there are volunteers for just Oulu.

I'd advice you ask for the information directly from the parish. It may take some time, too, and cost a couple of tenners but you maybe can go on earlier? In the meanwhile, here are the Paulins that were in the address book of Oulu in 1928:

and the next page. There are names like Adolf, Adolf U, Johan P, Paul P and Urho P for suggestions as to father someone born in 1909. Of course he may have been illegitimate, too, and the mother gave the family name.

If you look at the Oulu Children's Book until 1900,

you will see that Johan Petter had a son Urho Petter, and maybe Johan Petter was too old to have a son in 1909, Urho Petter too young?

In 1903, worker Adolf Paulin from Oulu countryside parish married Fredrika Väyrynen from Oulu town https://digi.kansalliskirjasto.fi/sanom ... erm=Paulin

But these are just suggestions. Not too many Paulins in Oulu in 1900 anyhow.
