Hello
Not sure if this is the right place for posting
I am wondering what happens to, records after the 100 years has passed
For example, if I want to look at Karuna parish first communion records anything after 1919 is redacted and not allowed to view. I know there's the 100 year rule which means you can't look at records 100 years or younger, but those records and pages from 1919 and 1920 are more than 100 years now, so when do these get redacted and made available?
Who decides on when it is appropriate time? Government?? and is there a place or a website I can keep looking at for future information on record releases.
Thanks!
100 year old records
Re: 100 year old records
Original church records are hand-written thick books and they have entries for many years, for example 1921-1929. They become available when youngest entries are more than 100 years old, e.g. 2030.
